YOUTH: Parish & Council Working Together!

8 06 2008

Pictured here to the left is our Third Year Trustee, Terry Reinhart.

He is enjoying a hot dog and the company of brother Knights helping out the youth with their carwash.

Also on the Finance Council for the parish, he was quick to “save the day” when patrons came with big bills. Terry immediately got smaller bills so that change could be made. It might seem a small thing, but it could really have soured the day.

Thanks Terry for your quick thinking!

The council is made up of men with varying gifts and from many diverse cultures.  Over half the council is composed of immigrants.  Working together as brother knights is proof that what unites us is far more important than our differences.

We are Catholics who share the same faith and values.

We are Knights of Columbus!

God bless you all!

Next year, Terry will be moving into the position of Deputy Grand Knight.

Congratulations!

Everyone was having a great time, and getting a clean car, too!

What did we charge? A soda, bag of chips and a hotdog or hamburger was just $3.50. The carwash was $10 for cars and $15 for vans and trucks. Not too bad, especially when someone else is doing the work. It was a great day!

YOUTH: Knights Help to Make Carwash a Success!

8 06 2008

Our knights set out their table and grills under the shade of some large old trees.

The men prepared food for the young people washing cars and sold lunches to patrons having their cars washed.

Although it was plenty hot and the work was hard, the kids had a great time.

YOUTH: Knights Provide Food for Carwash

8 06 2008

Knights helped out with the YOUTH CARWASH this Sunday between 1 PM and 4 PM.

Pictured here to the left is our Youth Activities Director, Ramon Glorioso Evasco.

The men did a great job cooking hotdogs and burgers.

The young people washed the cars.

It was probably the hotest day of the year so far. One person remarked, why are we having August in June?

The kids had fun though and got as wet as the cars they washed.

Pam, the parish youth director, offers her thanks for the Knights and their help.

Our chaplain Father Joe is also very happy about the event and wants to also thank those Knights who had their cars washed.

We are taking baby-steps, but I council is really starting to get active.

Here are some of our men preparing the food, yes even the one balancing on one leg.

If you have cooks, you also need paying patrons and eaters. Here one of our Family Activity Directors, Timothy J. Adams, is keeping Father Joe company at the picnic table.
