Council Softball Team Proposal

24 03 2008

Hi brothers,

The people who volunteered to work with the Council Committee gathered immediately after our last meeting. Among other things, there’s one proposed activity that we are trying to concretize and present to the Council for approval. There’s a proposal for us to try ‘Slow pitch’ softball and perhaps organize a team! For myself, the last time I picked up a bat was in the little league; but with the prospect of greater camaraderie, it sounds like a lot of fun! And think of the prospect of playing with other councils that are into the same sport!

Some members like the idea already and Brother Fritz is offering the use of his baseball bat. But I guess we need a whole array of gears to get started. Can you share your ideas fellas? We are starting from scratch here and we need inputs on the following:

1. What equipment do we need? (Do you have one gathering dust in the closet that we can still use?)

2. Venue? (Where can we practice and play some games?)

3. When is the best time to play and have some fun?

4. Anybody who is an expert on this and who wants to be trainer or coach?

5. Any expert idea is also welcome

At this time we won’t be asking if you want to be in the team or not. In case we decide to do this, all you have to do is just show up to throw, catch or hit some balls. We’ll take it from there.

Please just email back you comments fellas.
